Who we are

Elementdoma

We are an architectural lighting and spatial design consultancy. Our work transforms commercial offices, hospitality venues, and modern residential spaces into balanced, productive, and visually inspiring environments.

For architects & designers

We collaborate closely with architects, interior designers, and project managers from concept through commissioning. Our light-mapping diagnostics and ergonomic layout assessments ensure every fixture serves both the structure and the people inside it.

Geometry & efficiency

Every project begins with the building’s structural geometry. We craft tailored illumination concepts that emphasise architectural lines, improve energy performance, and reduce glare. Our schemes typically achieve 25–35% energy savings versus conventional baselines.

Measurable well-being

Occupant comfort is not an afterthought. We set target illuminance levels (150–300 lux for task areas) and use tunable-white systems to support circadian rhythms. The result is a space that feels natural, not over-lit.

Based in the UK · Consultancy for commercial, hospitality, and residential projects · No off-the-shelf solutions — every scheme is drawn from the building’s own geometry.

Our Purpose

Light as a
structural material

Elementdoma exists to prove that lighting is not a finish — it is a load-bearing element of spatial experience. We work with architects and designers from the earliest schematic phase, treating every beam, void, and surface as a potential light carrier. Our goal is to make the built environment feel inevitable, not decorated.

This means rejecting off-the-shelf fixture schedules. Every project begins with a light-mapping diagnostic that measures existing luminance, glare index, and circadian potential. Only then do we propose a system — always with a measurable target for energy reduction and occupant comfort.

Three principles

  • Geometry first. We map light to the actual structure — diagrid nodes, soffit depths, wall planes — not to a generic grid.
  • Energy as a constraint, not a compromise. Every lux is accounted for. We target at least 25% reduction against baseline without sacrificing visual comfort.
  • Well-being is measurable. We use melanopic lux ratios and glare probability indices to validate every scene.

What clients gain

  • A lighting masterplan that integrates with the architectural narrative, not a separate layer.
  • Predictable energy performance and maintenance schedules from day one.
  • Spaces that adapt to human circadian needs — brighter mornings, warmer evenings — without manual intervention.
